Farewell from AccelerAction: Celebrating 2.5 years of DeepTech connections

Brussels, February 2025

The AcccelerAction project, a pan-European initiative focused on fostering DeepTech innovation, has successfully concluded its activities, leaving a lasting impact on the European DeepTech landscape.

Through a collaborative approach of all Consortium partners, the project has connected key stakeholders, including startups and entrepreneurs, accelerators and incubators, as well as investors and policymakers, creating a thriving ecosystem that supports the development of cutting-edge technologies.

“The AccelerAction project has been a real catalyst for transformative collaborations, uniting a spectrum of DeepTech stakeholders across Europe.”, says Nadja Dokter, AccelerAction Project Coordinator.

One of the key achievements of AccelerAction is the establishment of DeepTech ACT, a virtual platform designed to connect and facilitate matchmaking  between diverse DeepTech players. The platform has attracted a vibrant community of users, providing a valuable resource for networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange.

“DeepTech ACT is one of the cornerstones of our efforts to enhance connectivity and spur innovation throughout Europe. This virtual ecosystem fosters learning, sharing, and networking, creating vital links among DeepTech players across Europe and beyond. By aiming to reduce fragmentation, it boosts our collective capacity to drive innovation.”, Nadja explains.

Throughout its duration, AccelerAction has organised a series of online events, as DeepTech Talks, Collab events and DeepTech ACT webinars, providing networking opportunities and valuable industry insights to DeepTech players. AccelerAction organised Grow experience, a three month long in-person exchange between DeepTech startups. The project has also developed a range of resources, including best practice guides, policy recommendations, and educational materials, which are freely available to the DeepTech community.

The success of AccelerAction is a testament to the power of collaborative partnerships in driving innovation. By bringing together a diverse consortium of partners with complementary expertise, the project has achieved significant impact and contributed to the advancement of the European DeepTech sector.

AccelerAction project unites DeepTech Innovators across European Union

Paris, May 2023

Empowering the future of DeepTech innovation, the AccelerAction initiative, is breaking down barriers and forging connections among visionary innovators across Europe. With a mission to connect, inspire, and drive forward the brightest minds in DeepTech, AccelerAction is transforming the innovation landscape and propelling Europe to the forefront of technological progress.

AccelerAction is an initiative backed by the esteemed Horizon Europe programme, a flagship research and innovation framework of the European Union. The initiative focuses on bridging the gaps that often hinder collaboration and information exchange among DeepTech innovators across Europe. By creating a vibrant ecosystem that fosters connections and facilitates knowledge sharing, AccelerAction paves the way for unprecedented advancements in this innovative industry.

DeepTech innovation, characterized by cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and biotechnology, holds immense potential to revolutionize industries and tackle complex challenges. However, the fragmented nature of the DeepTech landscape often inhibits the full realization of this potential. Recognizing this, AccelerAction serves as a unifying force, bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders including entrepreneurs, startups, researchers, investors, and policymakers.

This project brings together key partners from diverse spheres of the European innovation and enterprise ecosystems to tackle challenges we face in achieving gender equality and diversity, implementing innovative ideas and providing equal business opportunities throughout the EU. The Consortium, coordinated by JO Consulting (JOC), includes representatives from research and development organisations, SMEs, accelerators and experts in gender inclusion and innovation.

Through a series of strategic initiatives, AccelerAction aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among DeepTech innovators. The next initiative organised by the AccelerAction team – DeepTech Talks – a series of Round Tables to understand the needs, challenges and solutions to connect innovation and DeepTech ecosystems across Europe, will occur on the 29th of June 2023 and focus on Central and Western Europe.

As Europe strives to maintain its position as a global leader in innovation, the AccelerAction initiative plays a pivotal role in ensuring that DeepTech innovators have the necessary support and opportunities to thrive. By fostering collaboration, empowering individuals, and driving technological progress, the initiative strengthens Europe’s innovation ecosystem, positioning it at the forefront of DeepTech advancements. As the AccelerAction initiative continues to gain momentum, it invites DeepTech innovators across Europe to join forces, connect, and shape the future of technological progress.
